Joachim Maier is regarded as a pioneer in all things zirconia and has successfully devoted the past 20 years to metal-free dental technology.

In 1989, Joachim Maier embarked on his career in dental technology with an apprenticeship in Stuttgart and subsequently gained invaluable experience in the clinical laboratory of the University Dental Clinic in Tübingen and spent 4 years as an all-rounder in a renowned Stuttgart laboratory.

From 1997, he was a team member with Prof. Malament in Boston, USA, where he was responsible for esthetic implant technology. He regularly taught as a Clinical Instructor within the Postgraduate Program for Prosthodontics at Harvard University and lectured as a Visiting Lecturer at Tufts University, both in Boston.

This was followed by the Master School in Munich, which he completed successfully in 1999 with distinction.

In the same year, he founded Bodensee Dentaltechnik AG in Meersburg together with partners and specialized exclusively in full-ceramic dental restorations and CAD/CAM technology.

Since 2003, Joachim Maier is a member of the Oral Design Foundation headed by Willi Geller. To consistently expand his focus on dental esthetics, he founded an independent high-tech laboratory in Überlingen, specializing in the most innovative technologies and state-of-the-art materials. Since 2009, he has provided healthy new teeth with natural esthetics to patients all over the world from there.

2020 is definitely an anniversary year for Joachim Maier: 20 years of “completely metal-free dental technology”, 20 years of CAD/CAM and 200 lectures and courses in Europe, the USA and Asia.
