Staying on track with all—ceramic materials: clinical concepts for teeth and implants

Today high strength glass-ceramics and zirconia-based ceramics are successfully used in daily routine. Scientifically based clinical recommendations give clear advice which material under what kind of clinical circumstances performs best. The participants will learn a straightforward concept to case selection, preparation or implant placement, impression technique and delivery.

The use of all-ceramic materials for partial, single and multiple unit restorations has become popular over the last decades. Clinical advantages as superior esthetics and biocompatibility compared to metal-ceramics have led to numerous developments. Today high strength glass-ceramics and several different modifications of zirconia-based ceramics are successfully used in daily routine. Digital processes made the fabrication of these materials less error-prone and more accurate. Meanwhile digital impression techniques have simplified the clinical procedure, too. Selecting the right material for each clinical situation can be challenging. Scientifically based clinical recommendations give clear advice which material under what kind of clinical circumstances performs best. The participants will learn a straightforward concept to case selection, preparation or implant placement, impression technique and delivery.
